Larry Johnson with an Interest in the Steelers?

When Larry Johnson was shown the door in Kansas City Monday, there was an immediate thought that the former Penn State back would end up in the state where he played his college ball – Pennsylvania. Yes, the word from ESPN’s Adam Schefter is that the former 1700 yard back wants to play with the defending champion Steelers.

Back in the 2003 season, Johnson felt he was going to end up as a Steeler, but instead the team made a deal with the Chiefs to move up and grabbed now all-world safety Troy Polamalu. Johnson fell to the 27th pick, going instead to Kansas City.

Johnson was maybe the best back in football in the 05-06 and 06-07 seasons, going for 1750 and 1789 years in those two years, and piling up 40 touchdowns in those two years. If Johnson clears waivers, the word from Schefter is that he wants to play in Pittsburgh.
