This Week In Baseball- Photoshop Edition

Swap Shop- Roy Halladay, Milton Bradley, Pat Burrell, Derek Lowe, Luis Castillo, and Dan Uggla are all on the trading block for various reasons. Doc Halladay and Popeye Uggla have become too expensive for their current teams and are going to be moved for a bevy of prospects. The Braves are trying to free salary and roster space for younger and cheaper starting pitchers, so Lowe is now high on the list of players likely to be traded. Pat the Bat, Milton "I don't play games" Bradley, and Pop-up dropper Castillo are bad contracts and their teams don't want them anymore.

Axed- The Pirates are a team in the shitter. When they get good players they quickly move them on by either granting them free agency or trading them away for prospects that aren't ever going to pan out. Matt Capps is the most recent tragic cost-cutting move by the Buccos, as the closer was non-tendered a contract because he's arbitration eligible and might actually cost more than league minimum to retain...can't be having that now can we?!

Richie Figgins- leadoff speedster extraordinaire Chone Figgins landed the first big contract of the offseason. The Mariners needing a 3rd baseman came in guns blazing offering 4 years and $36M and landed their prize.
Retired?- Barry Bonds agent made a statement this week that the former juiced slugger will not be playing professional baseball anymore. However, it's not a retirement, rather a fact that no team will employ the melon-headed masher and his media circus. The dirty "C-word" has been uttered...collusion.Steel Panther- Death To All But Metal
